This situation is akin to having the US tell the telecommunications companies create a backdoor for the NSA to listen in on our phone calls. Oh, wait … they did that? I find it comical that people will likely weigh in and become aghast that a government would want the ability to "spy" on their citizen communications. Uh … pot, here's the kettle.
I can see both sides of this conversation, however I side with Blackberry and giving the control to their customer. Hence-forth I shall only send my top secret communications with shady characters via super encryption, so complicated that the message is permanently garbled and only WOPR could unravel it, although it would take 10 millennial.
